Challenge yourself?

There are various reasons why people remain satisfied in their comfort zone without challenging themselves. Maybe they are afraid of changing and already know there is a slim chance to attain their goals, maybe they have to sacrifice themselves to achieve them, or maybe some may go dead against it. Ultimately, all of the above are reasonable.
Life goes smoothly without challenging yourself. Before, I used to think I must challenge myself. I thought I could always do better than this, always pursue a bigger dream, but now my thoughts have changed. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but when I met my friend who was always happy, it made me realize that I did not need to challenge myself.
Her life motto was to live life the way it came to her. As the expression “no pain, no gain” is used by those that believe a challenge is necessary for life’s gains, my friend is thankful for whatever is given to her.

Decisions, decisions and decisions!

While living my life, every moment is filled with decisions big and small.
Why do I hesitate in decision making? Choosing the right path and
knowing which way is right is very hard.

Even though I spend a lot of time before I make a decision,
I sometimes regret it. That is when I say to myself,
“Take one step back, take two steps forward.”

In life, everything is uncertain except tax and death.
Therefore, I will live it making mistakes during the decision process.

Tiger Mom

One of this year’s acclaimed books on education is the “Tiger Mom”. It is a memoir on strict and harsh parenting written by a law school professor, Amy Chua.
I think hard-hitting parenting gives a fairly good outcome of reaching a kid’s greatest aptitude.
However, in order to be a Tiger Mom, you must have a Tiger Kid who makes a commitment to follow a rigorous discipline, and never cross the boundaries of a  tiger mom.

"The Blind Side"

“The Blind Side” is based on a true story. I watched this movie last Sunday, and it really touched me. The story of this movie is about 18 year old Black American Michael Oher who struggles with his life and his mother who became a drug addict after his father was murdered.
On a very cold freezing day, Michael who weighed about more than 300 pounds only wore a short T-shirt. On his way home, a wealthy American couple, Leigh Ann and Sean, saw him and invite him to their house, which they eventually adopted. They treated him like a biological son and provided a very good educational environment for him to be a good sportsman.
Michael grew up as the best high school football player, and he became one of the top players in the Baltimore Ravens.
Michael Moore tells the story about a person that overcomes his unhappy childhood memories. Ms. Leigh Ann`s role played by Sandra Block, plays a mother who supports and gives a lot of love regardless of their race.
